The recipe calls for uncooked chicken and regular rice, but I only have minute rice.. So I'm thinking of boiling the chicken first and then baking it all together for a shorter amount of time.. How long do you boil chicken? Should this work ok?

baking rice with it together? cook seperately then add when the rice is about done. I do that all the time

Chicken pot pie recipe?
I'm looking for a chicken pot pie recipe preferrably with gravy. Does anyone know of any chicken pot pie recipes?
Quick Chicken Pot Pie
INGREDIENTS:
2 1/2 cups diced cooked chicken
4 ounces sliced mushrooms, about 1/2 cup
1 1/2 cups frozen peas and carrots or mixed vegetables
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/2 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
milk

Topping
.
1 cup biscuit mix
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
PREPARATION:
Put chicken, vegetables, salt and pepper in casserole. Add soup and stir, adding milk a little at a time until desired consistency is reached. Blend shortening into biscuit mix and add 3/4 cup milk, stirring until smooth. Pour batter over top of casserole. Bake 45 min at 375°. Cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
All the Fried recipes online are really bad. They are really Americanized and are not as good as restaurant quality, they are comparable to buffet quality. Does anyone know of a good chicken fried rice recipe (it doesn't have to be chicken, it can be veggie) that they have made that tastes like a sit down Chinese restaurants' version?
As an American, I take offense to that statement, But for any fried rice, Use rice that's been cooked for a bit, I have a rice cooker and will cook rice 4 hours prior, not freshly made. Add a few tablespoons of olive oil to a hot pan add chopped garlic and onions and toss till the garlic is lightly browned, throw in the rice and add a small amount of soy sauce. I like a bit of fish sauce in mine" 3 Crabs Brand". I even add shredded carrots and a few green peas every now and then.
Note: If adding any meat, I usually use Boneless-Skinless chicken breast cubed, throw it in when garlic and onions are done, then proceed. This is a typical Hmong Fried Rice
I'm stuck at home in the ice storm here in Oklahoma and need a yummy new twist on the old chicken and rice recipe..anyone have any suggestions???

anyway for chicken and rice…
if its minute rice, just put it in the pan- if its regular rice, cook it first
then place your raw chicken on top of the rice… season as desired and cover with mixture below…
1 can cream of mushroom soup,
1 soup can of milk or cream,
1 cup shredded cheese (any kind)
1 tsp each, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder
pour over rice and chicken…
bake covered until chicken juices run clear… at least 1 hour
